Parent Handbook
What Services Are Available To My Child And Family?
A variety of services is available through the Infant-Toddler Program.
Some are required services. This means that one of the Infant-Toddler
Program agencies must make them available if they are included on your
IFSP. If an agency that is helping you does not offer a service that is
listed on your IFSP, your Child Service Coordinator is responsible for
helping you find a service provider. Required services include:
| Assistive Technology |
Audiology Services |
| Early Identification and Screening |
Family Counseling and Therapy |
| Health Services |
Medical Services |
| Multidisciplinary Evaluations |
Nursing Services |
| Nutrition Services |
Occupational Therapy |
| Physical Therapy |
Psychological Services |
| Respite Services |
Child Service Coordination |
| Social Work Services |
Speech-Language Therapy |
| Special Instruction |
Vision Services |
| Transportation |
|
See the Parent Dictionary of Early Intervention Words for brief definitions
of these services. Detailed definitions can be obtained from your Child
Service Coordinator.
Other services (often called recommended services) may be listed on your
IFSP, but are not required by law to be provided. Child Service Coordinators
may help you locate and use these services. Some recommended services
are:
| Child care |
Well child care |
| Genetics Counseling |
Immunizations |
If you are ever unhappy with any services or with any of your service
providers, talk with your Child Service Coordinator. Also, talk with this
person if you ever feel that you are not getting the services that you
think you and your child need and should have. If you still have concerns,
contact your Child Service Coordinator's supervisor or the Family Support
Network or the Exceptional Children's Assistance Center.
