Where Are Services Provided?
Services can be provided in different places. Children can be at home
with their families or other care providers to receive services. Places
in your community where your child can receive services might be: a child
care program, a play group, a park, or the library. All of these places
are called natural environments. Locations where children who are typically
developing and children with special needs are playing and learning together
are called inclusive settings.
Services are to be provided in natural environments unless your child's
needs cannot be met there. In choosing services, it is important to think
about those natural environments where your child learns best. When deciding
about the location of services, you and your IFSP team should consider
all of the natural environments and inclusive settings in your community.
